Spyware and Adware! Has your computer been getting slower? Are you finding mysterious icons on your computer’s desktop or search bars on your Internet Explorer? Or maybe you’re constantly getting bombarded with pop-up windows?
You’ve computer is probably infected with spyware/adware! These programs run in the background and steal your cpu processing time and Internet connection bandwidth. Some may even sell your hard drive space to third parties.
How do you get rid of these nuisances? Although I still use Ad-aware, my first choice lately has been Spybot Search & Destroy. Spybot seems to clean spyware just as efficiently as Ad-aware, but Spybot also immunizes against some future spyware attacks.
Also, I’ve just recently begun using Spywareblaster. This program does not clean spyware that may already installed on your computer. Spywareblaster’s purpose is to immunize or block spyware from installing in the first place. I don’t know how effective it is, but I’ve not noticed any problems with it after using it for several months.
All three of these programs are free. I’m too cheap to pay for a program when these seem to get the job done for free. If any of you have helpful information you’d like to share, just E-mail Me and I’ll pass it on.

Google Desktop Search http://desktop.google.com/ I just read about this in the Ashland Daily Independent this morning. Download and run this software and Google will index the c-drive on your computer. Once indexed, you can use Google to search for information on your computer just like you search the Internet. Proceed at your own risk. I’m trying it, but I don’t know enough yet to offer a thumbs up.
